Announcing the MATS MPO 2050 Freight Study

The Macon-Bibb Planning & Zoning Commission is in the process of completing a Regional Freight Network Plan for the Macon Area Transportation Study Metropolitan Planning Organization (MATS MPO).  This project began in January 2024, and will run through June 30, 2025.

Click here to see the project website, including a map outlining the plan’s study area, and a timeline describing key tasks involved in the study. Each of the tasks will help MATS and the project team assess regional freight needs, strengths, challenges and opportunities through the year 2050.
