Notice of Public Comment Period – Amendment to MATS FY 2024 – 2027 TIP: Update to Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority FY 2026 Contracts
Notice is hereby given that the Macon Area Transportation Study Metropolitan Planning Organization (MATS MPO) intends to amend the FY 2024 – 2027 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) at the Policy Committee meeting on February 4, 2026.
On December 30, 2025, Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority (MTA) advised MATS MPO of the need to amend TIP Ch. 4 – Mass Transit, in order for MTA to obtain funding under their FY 2026 Federal Transit Administration 5307 sub-recipient award, to reflect consulting services in the amount of $200,000 ($160,000 Federal; $40,000 Local Match) to assess existing conditions and provide recommendations for service improvements and expansions.
In accordance with the requirements set forth in the MATS MPO Public Participation Plan, a public comment period on the proposed amendment will be open from January 15, 2026 through January 30, 2026.
