MATS 2055 Metropolitan Transportation Plan – Tell Us Your Thoughts!
The next update to the MATS Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) is getting underway, and we want to hear from you!
The Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) is the master guide for transportation projects receiving federal support that are located in in Macon-Bibb County and parts of Jones & Monroe Counties. The plan presents the transportation improvements that are needed today and in the future, to help move people and goods safely and conveniently about the Middle Georgia Area.
To keep the document and project lists current, the MATS MTP updated every 4 to 5 years. Per Federal statute, the MTP is designed to forecast demand for transportation services at least 20 years into the future, taking into account anticipated population growth, housing needs and employment goals for the region. Because the planning horizon year is 2055 (set in consultation with GDOT), this version of the plan will cover the next 30 years.
Because transportation infrastructure choices affect every other aspect of daily life, we want to hear your thoughts as we’re developing the plan.
Click here to take a short survey and provide your thoughts on how transportation should develop in our region (You can also use the link at the top left hand side of the page)
In addition to the survey, check back on the MATS main website (www.maconmpo.com) for public listening session opportunities, where you can discuss your ideas directly:
